Background
GuruHVACProducts are original innovations that were created by HVACR trades veteran, me, John Rocheleau, the founder of this site.
I am the original inventor of numerous industry standard products. Among them are the Taco Freedom Flange line and what has become the Webstone Valves isolation flange line and other non-flanged valve designs. My designs have spurned copycats among innumerable manufacturers such as Webstone, Watts and ITT/Bell & Gossett.
While so many companies have exploited the basic form of my flange and valve inventions, not one has copied my lead and made their products high-quality and in the USA. All others’ products that mimic mine are made in China, with low quality brass and designs that were intended to reduce manufacturing costs. The consequence of this is the products themselves have been compromised by design, but “the price is right”.
This conundrum (my designs being knocked-off with low quality products) is what inspired me to re-create all of my earlier works with patentable designs made of the highest quality materials right here in the United States, by American craftsman. Following is the name and description of each of my new designs.
GuruHandles
GuruHandles are handles for virtually any valve brand and type, and were created to designate the function of the valve in the system it’s installed in. Cold Water Main; Heating Supply Zone 1; Heating Return Zone 2; Kitchen Cold Water Supply; Irrigation System Main are all examples of a typical valve designation.
GuruHandles can be ordered as a one-off designation, or in hundreds, even thousands of custom designations. Price falls with quantity increase.
GuruHandles are made of several alloy options: Gray and Ductile Iron, Bronze and Aluminum and are offered with Electroless Nickle, Bright Nickle, Trivalent Chrome, Annodizing, Lacquer or Paint. Even Gold and Silver are offered for novelty and/or commemorative applications.

Combined with a GuruHolder instruction holder and zone legend, GuruHandles are the greatest way to inform technicians, maintenance departments and building owners of the valves precise function.
An installing company can create its own custom color scheme that identifies, at a glance, the purpose of the valves they see throughout a piping system.
Sell GuruHandles as you would any other part in a system – COGS – and take the mark-up on the sale of each handle. Besides, where else can you get paid for your advertising?
GuruHolders
GuruHolders were designed with 4 purposes in mind.
- A holder for I&O Manuals and other Instruction Sheets.
- A legend for Zone Numbers – it’s one thing to have a handle designated as zone 1, it’s another thing to know what room in the building “zone 1″ actually serves.
- A place for the installing company to proudly display its brand.
- A place on the system that states the installation date of the system.
GuruHolders are made of bronze or aluminum and can be painted, annodized or plated in Nickle or Chrome. Also, they can be a 2-tone arrangement with the above coatings on the front and a different coating on the back and sides.
GuruFlanges
GuruFlanges are my favorite flange invention – and I have over 70 flange designs! With a GuruFlange for circulators (residential or commercial), a length of pipe is not necessary to join it to a valve used to isolate the circulator. And the flange comes in both sweat and threaded (coming soon) versions.
Sweat GuruFlanges are made of a high strength alloy made mostly of pure copper. This higher strength (than any sweat flange on the market) allows the flat of the flange to be thinner and require less heat in the soldering process than any other sweat flange out there.
Combined with a GuruFittings Street Accessory Tee, the GuruFlange and Tee make the perfect tag team for any valve brand or type to create an isolation flange with purge port. GuruFittings
GuruFittings consist of a Street Accessory Tee and other innovative fittings that eliminate pipe from the equation of component assembly. No pipe means half the fittings to solder. Paired with a GuruFlange Street Flange, the Street Accessory Tee is the greatest thing to happen to a ball valve used to isolate a forced hot water circulator, and the Flange and Tee can be reversed so the valve can be positioned without the handle hitting adjacent obstacles.
GuruPlaques
GuruPlaques are designed to showcase an installing company’s brand and contact information. Our plaques come in the same alloys available for GuruHandles – aluminum, iron and bronze – as well as Zinc and Magnesium, and are plated or painted with numerous options.
GuruJobCostPads
GuruJobCostPads are based on my Sales Engineer Job Estimating System (SEJES), but are a manual method – no computer necessary – of estimating HVACR job costs and profits.
